Seabrook is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It is situated on the sourthern end of the state, bordering Massachusetts. The town is known by locals as “The Brook”, and the town’s residents are known as “Brookers”. Seabrook is near the coast and the is gateway to the Seacoast Region. The landscape includes open salt marshes and sand dunes between the Altantic and Seabrook Harbor. Seabrook Harbor offers some of the freshest seafood on the Seacoast. Seabrook is a tourist destination, and draws thousands of shoppers from Massachusetts who are attracted to the tax-free purchases in New Hampshire. It is also home Seabrook Greyhound Park. The park offers year-round racing and hosts functions and dinners. It is also home to many manufactureres, and Seabrook Station, a nuclear power plant. According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Seabrook’s population at the time was 7,979 people. This included 3,425 households and 2,161 families. The average family size was 2.85 and the average household size was 2.32. Seabrook is comprised of 8.9 square miles of land and 0.8 square miles of water.
