Farmington is a quaint suburb situated along the Farmington River in Strafford County, New Hampshire. It is located in the Hartford Metropolitan area and is near the Seacoast. It is known as the gateway to the lakes region of New Hampshire. Farmington was incorporated in 1645 and was first known as the “Mother Town”. The quaint suburb has always been home to farming and agriculture. Today the town is also home to a thriving downtown, an industrial corridor along Route 11 and the Sarah Greenfield Business Park. Farmington offers numerous outdoor recreational activities. They include camping, golfing, fishing, boating, hiking snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. The town is home to Blue Job State Forest.
